As we commence and embrace the new learning year we are reminded that this profession requires many hands to achieve many things. If we focus on empowering each other in collective action, using a strengths based approach then, many things can be achieved.
In our Kāhui Ako, we look to collaborate as a collective of kura (ECE & Playcentres, Contributing Schools and High School) in the best interests of ALL stakeholders, but especially so for the ākonga who are placed in our care.
Ngā Puawai ō Tawera (Malvern Kura Kapa haka) performed to MoE, Tumuaki, Board of Trustee members, kaimahi and whānau on Wednesday 10 April (Wk 11, T1) at Darfield High School.
Our special Kāhui Ako accord day on Friday 31 May at Darfield High School was a memorable time as a collective of 11 kura with 120 kaiako, kaiāwhina, tumuaki, centre managers, MoE and other guests coming together to discuss, collaborate, challenge and frame our mindset of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
As you know, a review has occurred of Te Mātaiaho (Refreshed New Zealand Curriculum) by the Ministerial Advisory Group (MAG) redesigning the English and Mathematics & Statistics learning areas in the refreshed NZC for primary, intermediate and early secondary school students in Years 0 -10.
